一項針對標準制定時出現變動與決策間緊張進行管理的方法，其透過創造足夠的彈性來生成足以標準化的選項，以便可在這些選項間做出明智的選擇。
A way of managing the tension between variability and decision-making in standard setting, by creating enough flexibility to generate options with enough standardization so that informed choices can be made between those options.
